Distra is a Chrome extension for LinkedIn that helps you record and send personalised video and voice messages. It reads publicly visible information on the LinkedIn profile you are viewing, generates a short spoken word script using AI, and provides an in-browser recording interface. The finished video is attached to LinkedIn's message composer directly on your device. You initiate and review every recording before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.
When you activate Distra on a LinkedIn profile or conversation, the extension reads publicly visible information on the page you currently have open, including name, job title, and company, solely to generate a script for that one message. Profile data is read one page at a time, only when you explicitly trigger Distra, and only for the profile you are actively viewing at that moment.
This data is passed to our generation API for that single request and is not stored, aggregated, or reused. Distra does not operate in the background, does not read profiles automatically, does not crawl profiles in bulk, and does not interact with LinkedIn's API. All sends are initiated manually by you.
All recording is performed entirely within your browser using standard web APIs. Your camera and microphone are accessed only when you start a recording session. The resulting video file is never transmitted to Distra's servers. It is attached to LinkedIn's composer directly from your browser's memory. Distra has no access to the content of your recordings.
You are responsible for the content of every message you send. Distra generates a script for your review. You accept full responsibility for any video or message sent from your account. Do not use Distra to send spam, harassing messages, or anything that violates the terms of service of LinkedIn or any other platform.
Use of Distra does not exempt you from LinkedIn's own Terms of Service. You remain solely responsible for ensuring your outreach activity complies with LinkedIn's policies, including those relating to messaging volume and unsolicited contact.
Distra is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about the quality, accuracy, or fitness of generated scripts for any particular purpose, or about reply rates or business outcomes resulting from use of the product.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
