What we collect
When you use Distra, we collect the following:
- Your user account identifier
- The publicly visible LinkedIn profile data on the page you are viewing (name, job title, company), used solely to generate a personalised script for you
- Basic usage metadata (e.g. whether a video or voice recording was initiated)
What we never collect
- We do not store your video or audio recordings. All recording happens entirely inside your browser. The resulting video file is attached directly to the LinkedIn composer on your device and is never transmitted to Distra's servers.
- We do not access your camera or microphone outside of an active recording session you initiate.
- We do not store the LinkedIn profile data of the people you message. It is read from the page you currently have open, passed to our script generation API for that one request, and discarded immediately after the script is returned.
- We do not perform bulk data collection or automated scraping. Profile data is only read from the single page the user is actively viewing at the moment they initiate a recording. Distra takes no background action, reads no profiles the user is not looking at, and does not aggregate or store data across sessions.
- We do not read your LinkedIn inbox or any messages you did not initiate through Distra.
- We do not collect browsing history, keystrokes, or any data outside of the active session.
How we use your data
Profile context sent to our API is used only to generate your personalised outreach script for that single session and that single profile. It is not stored, shared, aggregated across users, or used to train shared models. Distra never uses profile data for any purpose other than producing the script you requested in that moment. Your account identifier is used to authenticate your access to the service.
Third-party services
Distra uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic: generates spoken word scripts. Prospect context is sent to Anthropic's API and is subject to their privacy policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default.
Camera and microphone access
Distra requests access to your camera and microphone only when you initiate a recording. This permission is used exclusively within your browser to produce the outreach video. The raw media stream is never sent to any server. You can revoke this permission at any time through your browser settings.
Your rights
You can request full account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@distra.app. Deletion is permanent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will note the date of the last update at the top of this page.
